Agi is a Sommelier, Wine Educator and Wine Writer who holds the internationally acclaimed Level IV Diploma in Wine & Spirits from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust in London, the certification leading to the Master of Wine as well as an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. In addition she is a certified wine judge, holds the Level I Sake Specialist certification and is a member of the International Whisky Competition tasting panel. Her commitment to quality wine education extends to both the consumer in the form of wine events and her peers in the culinary and hospitality professions including the Culinary Training Academy and Art Institute in Las Vegas. Whether in a classroom setting or winery, Agi takes her fellow wine enthusiasts to a deeper level of knowledge by delving into the details and sharing her in-depth appreciation for the production of wine and the complex sensory impressions it conveys.
She has been invited as a guest speaker on several radio shows including Martha Stewart’s Everyday Living sharing her thoughts on wine and food pairings and the art of tasting wine.
In her efforts to better understand the process of wine making, she worked as a Post Graduate Researcher at UC Davis Cooperative Extension in Northern California. Here she had the opportunity to work in such notable vineyards as Roederer, Duckhorn’s Golden Eye and the standard-bearer of biodynamic farming, Bonterra. This was the perfect way to gain hands on knowledge and experience working with grapevines to understand their lifecycle. Projects included pest management, irrigation management, clonal and varietal trials and she ran all of the wine grape chemistry for that year. It was in the experimental vineyards in Hopland where she made her first wine, Beyond Beaujolais.
Agi has developed and managed wine lists at the Michelin starred Andre’s French Restaurant and the M Resort in Las Vegas as well as the Metropolitan Club and Union League Clubs in Chicago. Agi continues to develop and plan events and is excited to add customized wine & spirits tours to her portfolio of activities.
